3D paper star template printable – a big star to fold and glue

A five-pointed star that stands out from the wall: each half is a flat net that folds into a low pyramid, and two halves glued rim to rim make the star. Print it in gold, red or in outlines to color – big for the window, small for the tree.

Where to hang a 3D star

Hang a big star in the window or over the Christmas table, put a small one on the tree, string a few small ones on a thread as a garland, or tie one onto a present instead of a bow.

How to make the star

  1. Print at 100% scale on 120–160 gsm paper – thinner paper bends, card is hard to fold.
  2. Cut out each half along the dark outline, grey tabs included, and cut the narrow slit right up to the middle.
  3. Score the lines first with a blunt knife or an empty pen along a ruler, then fold: ridges up, valleys down, as the key under the star shows.
  4. Glue each half shut on the tab by the slit, under the last face – you get two star-shaped pyramids.
  5. Fold the grey tabs of half A inwards.
  6. For the small star, lay a loop of thread between the halves at one point.
  7. Glue the halves rim to rim and press the last edge down from outside with a pencil.

A glue stick or double-sided tape dries faster than liquid glue. Several small stars on one thread make a garland.
