Hello from the North Pole!
I am an elf from Santa's workshop, and Santa is sending me to stay with you for all of December.
Every night I fly to the North Pole to tell Santa how you are, and every morning I am back – each time in a new place. Can you find me?
Just one rule: please don't touch me, or my magic fades. You can look at me and talk to me as much as you like – I hear everything.
I am staying until Christmas Eve. Let's make this December a happy one!

How to use the elf letters
Put the welcome letter next to the elf on the day it arrives, so the children find both together in the morning. On the mornings of December, leave one note by the elf wherever it is hiding. On Christmas Eve the goodbye letter takes its place – add a line or two about what the elf liked most.

Step by step
- Type the child's name and the elf's name into both letters – or leave the lines empty and write by hand.
- Print at 100% (not “fit to page”) on A4 or Letter: three pages.
- Cut out the 12 notes along the dashed lines; write your own message on the two empty ones.
- The evening before the elf arrives, put the welcome letter next to it.
- Each evening tuck a note by the elf; on Christmas Eve, leave the goodbye letter with what you remember best.
