What paper napkin rings are for
A napkin ring with a name shows every guest where to sit at Christmas Eve dinner or Christmas lunch – instead of a place card or next to one. A rolled napkin in a paper ring with a star or a tree looks festive at once. The page to color keeps children busy before dinner: they decorate the rings for the guests.
How to make the napkin rings
- Print the pages at 100% scale on 160–200 gsm paper – thin paper creases and the ring will not keep its shape.
- Cut out each ring along the solid line, the decoration on top included – do not cut it off the strip.
- Cut the two red slits exactly to the middle of the strip: one from the top edge, one from the bottom edge.
- Write the guest's name on the line while the strip still lies flat.
- Roll the strip into a ring, the print outside, and slide the slits into each other – the ring holds without glue.
- Slip a rolled napkin inside, the decoration on top.
- Optional: bend the decoration back a little so that it stands upright over the napkin.
Write the guest list before you print, so you know how many pages you need. Lay the rings by the plates together with the place cards – in the same colors the table looks planned to the last detail.
