How to make the bookmarks
- Print the pages at 100% scale – on thicker paper if you have it.
- Color the pictures, write down your books, or add a few words for the book you’re giving.
- Cut along the thin lines.
- Punch a hole through the small circle at the top.
- Fold about 25 cm (10 in) of ribbon or yarn in half, push the loop through the hole and pull the ends through the loop.
Tips
Card stock of 160–200 g/m² makes bookmarks that last. No laminator? Cover both sides with wide clear packing tape and trim the edges. Felt-tip pens can bleed through thin paper – colored pencils and crayons don’t.
A book is a classic Secret Santa gift. Tuck in a bookmark from page 3: it says “From: your Secret Santa”, so it won’t give away who picked the book. More ideas: Secret Santa gift ideas.
