Gift box measurements
| Box | Size | What fits inside |
|---|---|---|
| Cube | 5 × 5 × 5 cm (2 × 2 × 2 in) | A bauble up to 4.5 cm across, earrings, a few chocolates |
| Gift card box | 6 × 1.5 × 9 cm (2.4 × 0.6 × 3.5 in) | A gift card or a ticket; a voucher from our printable Christmas gift vouchers, folded in half twice |
| Box with a lid | 6 × 6 × 3 cm (2.4 × 2.4 × 1.2 in) | Cookies up to 5.5 cm across, a tealight, a small ornament |
How to fold the gift boxes
- Print the three pages at 100% scale and check the 5 cm bar with a ruler.
- Cut out each net along the solid line.
- Score the dashed lines before you fold them: run the back of a knife or an empty ballpoint pen along them against a ruler. Then fold each one.
- Glue the grey tabs with a glue stick or double-sided tape: on the cube and the gift card box the long tab goes inside the first wall, on the box with a lid the corner tabs go inside the walls next to them.
- Put the gift in, fold in the small flaps and close the lid with its tongue tucked inside; on the box with a lid, slip the lid over the bottom.
- Write the name after “To:” – the label already says who it is from.
Tips
Print on coloured paper, or colour the drawings before you fold. The cube holds a bauble up to 4.5 cm across, a ring or a few chocolates; the slim box holds a gift card or a gift voucher folded in half twice.
