Funny Secret Santa poems

I searched the shops from end to end, I asked the cat, I asked a friend. The cat said “fish”, the friend said “socks” – so here you go: a mystery box.
To: …
I wrapped this gift with so much tape it’s turned into a brand-new shape. Bring scissors, patience and a snack – and don’t you dare to send it back.

The reindeer called in sick today, so I brought this myself, by sleigh – by sleigh, I mean the number nine bus. Merry Christmas from both of us!

Roses are red, the tinsel is gold, the best gifts come with a secret to hold. I know who you are, you don’t know me – I’ll be the one grinning beside the tree.
Poems for coworkers

No more “reply all”, no more “per my last” – the year’s nearly over, the deadlines are past. Here’s something to make the long Mondays fun, from a coworker. Guess which one!

You share your snacks, you hold the door, you never steal the stapler (anymore). So here’s a thank-you, wrapped up tight, from your Secret Santa, out of sight.

Our team’s best idea this year, it’s true, was drawing names – because I got you. Enjoy the break, switch off the screen, and leave the inbox where it’s been.

Clue one: I’m somewhere in this room. Clue two: I hum a holiday tune. Clue three: I’m smiling – look around! Whoever’s grinning: there I’m found.

A longer poem for a card or letter
For a card or a letter to read out loud: rhymed in pairs, with a wink, signed by Santa.
To: …
I’ve watched you closely all year long: you hum along to every song, you water plants nobody sees, you share the snacks with greatest ease. I asked my elves what it should be – they argued loudly, three to three. One said a scarf, one said a book, one said: “Just read the list, and look!” So here it is, with all our cheer, and lots of luck for the new year. Now open it – and don’t be shy! Love, Santa (and the elves say hi)

This year I flew from house to house and tiptoed quieter than a mouse. I checked your letter, read it twice, and asked the reindeer for advice. They said: “This one deserves a treat – something warm, or something sweet.” So when you’re cosy by the tree, remember one small thing from me: the best gift’s not what’s wrapped up tight – it’s being thought of, Christmas night. Santa
How to write your own Secret Santa poem
- Start with one real detail: a hobby, a habit, a favourite snack. One true thing beats ten general ones.
- Rhyme in pairs: line 1 with line 2, line 3 with line 4. It is the easiest pattern and sounds like a classic Christmas verse.
- Tease kindly, about a habit everyone already laughs about – never about looks, weight or age.
- Hint at the gift without giving it away: “it’s soft”, “it makes noise”, “you’ll need it in the morning”.
- Read it out loud: where you stumble, cut a word. Then sign it “Santa” – the secret stays a secret.
