Tips for building a real snowman
- The best snow is wet and sticky, near 0 °C: if a squeezed handful holds together, it is good packing snow.
- Start with a snowball in your hands, then roll it along the ground – it grows into the big bottom ball.
- Make each ball smaller than the one under it, and pat some snow between the balls so they stay together.
- For the eyes, mouth and buttons use stones, pine cones or old buttons instead of real coal.
- Dress warm: a hat, waterproof gloves or mittens and dry socks – and go inside to warm up when your fingers get cold.
